How long have you been in your industry?20
Why did you choose your industry? My god given gifts are acts of service, while my personality and positioning is that of a connector, so what better way then to work with socially conscious brands and companies to elevate their stories to the highest publications, pages and stages, to deliver an impact? Synergy of 1 + 1 = 3 is my legacy.
Who are your typical clients?Typical clients are looking for exposure, reach, and credibility that comes with launching a product or service or growing a business, so given our founder's background in start-ups, media, and technology, we work well with franchises that are beginning in food & beverage, health and wellness, or technologies looking to scale exponentially, as they usually have both a solid c-suite and company stories that the world needs to hear.
What do you like best about being in this industry? We like to call our PR - Purpose Relations, as we truly get to help other's dreams come true. We enjoy being able to be part of the puzzle, and connecting our clients, partners and communities with the right audiences that can help them truly make a difference. We love hearing about all the amazing ideas, concepts and companies that are helping to make our world a better place for future generations.
What are common problems you see?Everyone is now in a Tik-tok world, where everyone wants quick videos with massive views and to be found that way. Our job is to educate others, that we truly must niche down, do the work, and stay committed. Our attention (and data) are being sold, so we must vote with our time, our clicks, and our story. Where we tell our story truly matters, and while social media sites do matter, we look to put you in front the people that can really help elevate you and your story where and when it matters most.
What advice/tips do you have for clients? We advise them to start with their mission, prior to blasting your company or story. Think about building with a mission, and THEN move into your messaging, so you can share your story effectively and turn your mess into your message, while moving into your media and marketing. Too often others blast our messages, when it's really about connecting with your early adopters and true fans that can communicate your value and experience it to help you grow with word of mouth. Lastly, we want to leverage these key players and fans to build a movement around what you're doing.
When is your busy season?Fall into Winter
What keeps you up at night?Figuring out how to help more people at scale, and which platforms are best to do that
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? We treat our company like our clients and employ various approaches from appearing on podcasts, social media, email and text messages, while also pushing ourselves into network groups, local commerce groups, and consistently communicating our value with our close friends and ambassadors, as well as our third party partnerships.
How involved are you in the community?Currently I coach local soccer, while also donating my time at a few local schools. Recently, my company created an entire new brand redesign for Liberty Elementary School to help them differentiate themselves. In addition, we have local yard sales where we donate to St. Judes and created a t-shirt company based on my daughter's favorite saying, "Love Never Ends" where we give a % of the proceeds back to charity too.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Don't reinvent the wheel, find out what you really love, and then niche down to ONLY serve that market. For example if you love sports, and want to get into PR. Start figuring out the key players in sports event marketing, as well as PR, and then donate your time to see how they operate. The fastest way to success is figuring out what systems, strategies and solutions your good at, while finding ways to either do, delegate or delete the tasks that keep you "busy" on the spinning hamster wheel.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Podcasting, Reading, Playing Tennis, Doing Brain Twisters, Coaching Soccer, Bikeriding and watching my Philly sports teams!! Go Birds!
