What was your first job in Media?

Working as a media buyer/account manager for the dentist industry. Was managing 20+ accounts and promoted to Team Lead after just 6 months.

What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

The best brands will see themselves as media/creator companies. Providing value to your audience beyond a product/price is going to be key to breaking through the noise and competition.

Why is it important for a business to hire an outside ad agency as opposed to having just an internal marketing director?

Outside ad agencies specialize in keeping up with trends and algorithm best practices. They also have a larger sample size of clients/campaigns, giving them much more experience in what “works” for paid media by noticing things that you’d only find by spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in ad spend across a variety of clients. For example, an agency can use the same landing page concept across 10 different clients in 1 month – it would take an in-house team much longer to find the same type of statistically significant findings.

What is one tip that you would give when it comes to digital marketing?

Prioritize what’s best for your customers above all else. If it feels spammy or like you are tricking your customers to do something… your customers will notice and it will be detrimental to the brand in the long run.

In simple terms. Treat customers the way you want to be treated.
