Short company description:

AES makes software for moderate to severe autism and other learning issues. We have the DT (Discrete Trial) Trainer used in school districts and homes primarily in the US and Canada. We are used with a range of students from ones that are only learning one-on-one to typically developing children. The content is for individuals developmentally from 2 to 9 years old.

What Is Your Why (Why Are You In Business)?

I have a son with autism and have the background that enables me to move research to practice.

How did you get started in your field or work?

I am an electrical and computer engineer and did extra studies in human intelligence, psychology, linguistics, and learning.

What’s one thing we should know that makes your company unique?

Our program, the DT Trainer, usually can enable a student that only learns one-on-one to become and independent learner on at least some of what we need him or her to know.

What are your biggest goals in the next 6 to 12 Months for your business?

We have been contributing to educating special needs students for 23 years, so we expect to continue making a difference.

Who do you know that is impacted by Autism and how has that impacted you?

My family is directly impacted so we live it. As you know, if you meet one person with autism, you have met one person with autism. My son is 28 now, so we have been on a journey that we do not know where it will take us. Him having autism led me to giving up highly lucrative consulting work to make a difference for him and now hundreds of thousands of other individuals over the years.
