Short company description:
Grief Garden Inc. is a Jacksonville-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate, and healing-centered environment for youth ages 7–17 navigating grief, loss, separation, trauma, and difficult life transitions. Through grief support groups, mentorship, educational workshops, and wellness activities, we empower young people to express their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and build resilience. We are committed to transforming grief into growth by equipping children with the emotional tools, supportive connections, and confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges with hope and resilience.
What’s the biggest challenge people in your side of town face?
Limited grief awareness and education: Many families may not recognize how grief, trauma, and significant life changes affect children’s emotional well-being, behavior, and academic success.
Transportation barriers: Families without reliable transportation may struggle to access grief support groups, mentorship programs, counseling, and other community resources.
Limited access to affordable, specialized youth grief support: Families may have difficulty finding accessible, age-appropriate services that help children process grief in a safe and supportive environment.
What makes your business the go-to choice for side of town residents?
What makes Grief Garden Inc. a valuable and trusted resource in the 32206 community is that our work is already rooted in the community we serve. With over 20 years of experience working with children and families, I have established meaningful relationships, built trust, and gained firsthand knowledge of the challenges our youth face. Through ongoing engagement, mentorship, and emotional support, I am already witnessing the positive impact of creating safe spaces where children feel heard, valued, and supported. Grief Garden is not simply introducing a service to the community; we are building upon relationships, trust, and meaningful work already taking place. Our commitment is to expand that impact by helping more children transform grief into growth through compassion, connection, and resilience.
