Short company description:
Willow Wellness Counseling is a private practice dedicated to helping adults navigate anxiety, trauma, life transitions, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. Using evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, we provide a compassionate, supportive space where clients can build resilience, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. We offer both in-person counseling in St. Johns County and virtual therapy throughout Florida.
What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment has been building a career that allows me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. From supporting individuals in crisis in an inpatient psychiatric setting to opening Willow Wellness Counseling, every step has reinforced why I became a therapist—to create a safe space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
One of the messages I hope every client takes with them is that healing isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. Real growth comes from taking small, consistent steps forward and learning to give ourselves grace along the way.
I also consider it a privilege to hold hope for my clients during the times when they have difficulty seeing it for themselves. Watching someone begin to recognize their own strength, build confidence, and realize they don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone is the accomplishment I’m most proud of.
What’s The Biggest Challenge you are facing in your business or industry?
One of the biggest challenges is helping people access mental health care before they reach a crisis. Many people wait until they’re overwhelmed because of stigma, uncertainty about the therapy process, or the belief that they should be able to handle everything on their own. My goal is to make counseling feel approachable and to help people see that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
How do you see your field evolving in the next 3-5 years?
I believe the future of mental health care is greater collaboration between counselors, primary care providers, psychiatrists, OB/GYNs, and other healthcare professionals. Mental health doesn’t exist in isolation—our emotional well-being affects our physical health, and our physical health impacts our mental well-being. Over the next three to five years, I expect we’ll continue to see more integrated, whole-person care where providers work together to ensure clients receive comprehensive support. I also believe telehealth and the continued growth of interstate licensure through the Counseling Compact will improve access to care, helping connect people in rural and underserved communities with qualified mental health professionals. My hope is that this collaborative approach will continue to reduce stigma and make seeking mental health care as routine as seeking care for any other aspect of our health.
Who in your industry do you see as a trend setter and why?
I would actually say that the people seeking mental health care are the true trendsetters. More people are recognizing that mental health is just as important as physical health and are choosing to invest in themselves before reaching a crisis. They’re asking for care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative. I believe our profession is evolving because clients are helping shape what quality mental health care should look like.
