About Amy Cherie Copeland (freelance writer, writing coach, and editor; sole proprietor)In addition to my full-time job as an academic writing tutor at FSCJ, I am a freelance writer, writing coach, and editor. I work with people one-on-one to help them make their writing the best it can be.
What differentiates you from the competition?First, I excel at helping writers address taboo topics, get to the heart of their stories, and express their authentic voices. In addition, I am accustomed to working with beginners, so I probably have more patience than the average editor.
What are your top selling services or products that your company offers?Proofreading and copy editing are the bread and butter of my business. I offer critiques, coaching, developmental editing, and project management of the self-publishing process, as well as initiating my own writing projects from time to time.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?Writing and self-publishing a book requires a commitment of time and money to produce a quality product; depending on the size and genre of the project, writers should expect to spend from $2500 - $5,000 and up. You get what you pay for.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Sometimes I have more clients being referred to me than I can take on. I am an artisan with words, so my capacity is limited to the time and energy I can invest in a project.
