About Niyama Yoga ShalaNiyama Yoga Shala is a center for wellness where we offer Yoga Therapy, Ayurvedic Medicine, Integral Sound Healing, Reiki Healing, as well as International Wellness Retreats. We also own The Creative Kids Movement Network, Jacksonville where we bring yoga and exercise to children in preschools, daycares and elementary schools.
What differentiates you from the competition?I am a Yoga Therapist, one of many few on the East Coast of the USA with over 25 years experience in the world of health and wellness. I also spent 23+ years in corporate America working for the largest cosmetics company in the world.
What are your top selling services or products that your company offers?Having a graduate degree in both Ayurvedic Medicine and Sound Healing as well as being a Yoga Therapist. No one has all of these credentials, experience and knowledge in the state of Florida.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?Health and Wellness are essential for longevity. If the community dedicated more time and money to preventing dis-ease then the cost of medical expenses that treat illness would decrease drastically. Commitment to wellness takes effort.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Educating consumers on Ayurvedic Medicine and how essential it is to take time annually to go on wellness retreats.

What trends are shaping the health and wellness industry right now?My industry has been overwhelmed with poorly trained and undereducated professionals since COVID, watching the demise of traditional yoga has been upsetting. The trend NEEDS to be Ayurvedic medicine which promotes the prevention of dis-ease vs. treating disease as we are now in the USA.

How do you approach holistic well-being with your clients or audience?Education, practice and experiencing what I do with my clients is the approach I take. What we put into our body (from food, environment, people) affects our internal nervous system, therefore paying very close attention to all matters.

What challenges do you see in helping people sustain healthy habits?Motivation, consistency and commitment are essential; if someone isn’t willing to put in the time, work, and effort; they will not succeed.

How do you tailor programs for different fitness or health needs?Using Ayurvedic Medicine and Dosha Consultations which directly enable me to tailor all protocols.

What role does technology play in supporting wellness today?ZERO other than education if brought by the right educator.

Can you share a story of transformation you’ve witnessed?I have seen so many; one case study was done on a 7 year old child who was suffering from alopecia during COVID (directly related to a stress response). His mother was frustrated with traditional medicine, as no one could help “cure” her son. I started seeing him for Sound Therapy fused with Reiki and Crystal Healing; within 3 months his hair grew back, his lesions were gone and he was back to normal life. His mother attributes this all to what I did with her son.

What motivates you in this industry every day?My own sustainability and success with alternative medicine. I practice daily what I offer my clients.
