How has your business changed in the past 12 months?
Over the past 12 months, my business has evolved from primarily offering individual consultations to building scalable, community-focused programs. We now offer corporate wellness, group nutrition, Ayurveda and wellness programs, lunch-and-learns, and healthy cooking demos. I have also expanded into niche programs like the “Mix, Roll, Enjoy” food and sensory workshop for kids with autism. Overall, the focus has shifted toward broader impact reaching diverse populations, fostering preventive health, and creating sustainable wellness solutions.
Describe a Failure in your Career
Early in my journey, I tried to offer too many services at once without clearly defining my niche or audience. While the intention was to help more people, it led to scattered messaging and slower growth. That experience taught me the importance of focus, clarity, and building programs with purpose. Since then, I have been more intentional creating targeted offerings that align with my expertise and have a deeper, more meaningful impact.
What about your company makes you the most proud
What makes me most proud is the impact we are creating in the community. We are not just offering services we are making wellness accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant. From corporate wellness programs and group nutrition sessions to hands-on cooking demos and niche programs like our “Mix, Roll, Enjoy” workshop for kids with autism, we are reaching people who are often underserved. Seeing individuals and families feel empowered to take charge of their health in a sustainable way is what truly drives me.
How do you motivate people to give their best?
I motivate people by meeting them where they are and helping them connect their goals to a deeper purpose. I focus on creating a supportive, positive environment where people feel seen, heard, and valued. I lead by example, set clear expectations, and celebrate small wins along the way. Whether it’s my team or clients, I emphasize progress over perfection and empower them with practical tools so they feel confident giving their best.

Welcome back to another episode of Buzzworthy Businesses, where we highlight businesses who are making an impact. I’m Morgan Allen, joined today by Gauri Junnarkar with AyurNutrition. How are you? I knew I was going to mess that up, but how are you doing?
Gauri:
I’m doing wonderful. Thank you so much.
Morgan:
Yes. So you are using our Vedic nutrition principles in your business. And how are you doing? So tell me about it.
Gauri:
So this is such a wonderful question. And so what I do is my background. I was trained as a classically trained writer and I am a practitioner. And, you know, I got my master’s in nutrition. I’m a registered licensed dietitian, certified diabetes educator.
And what I do is I integrate that ancient wisdom of our Veda with modern nutrition to help people, families to lead a happier, healthier life, and a more balanced approach to the health and wellness needs.
Morgan:
Beautiful. And if people have never heard of Vedic nutrition, how do you describe it to them?
Gauri:
So when I talk about I would be the and diabetic nutrition, I see that it’s a more holistic approach to health and wellness. You know, we focus on a more individualized approach, a student knows what foods align with yours, what I what food, what is the lifestyle that aligns with those years and keeping everything in balance not only on a daily basis, but also that aligns on a seasonal basis as well.
Morgan:
And then whenever people are aligned with their dosha type and they’re eating specific types of food during specific seasons, how does that affect how they show up in the world?
Gauri:
Absolutely. Wonderful question. So one of the ways I explain is that, you know, one of the things we always focus on in your Veda is, on digestion. So we have a concept of Agni, which is a digestive fire.
We see that everything hinges on our digestion. So if we digest things correctly, we are able to, you know, get those nutrients from the foods. That means we have those building blocks that the body needs to maintain itself.
And as the seasons change, a lot of times, you know, when it comes to the gut microbiome, a lot of times also, we see that we get to make sure that the gut microbiome is in balance. Again, to include those foods, those vegetables that are there in the season.
That helps with the overall balance. That means better energy, better, sleep as well. And overall a feeling of well-being. That’s how people show up.
Morgan:
And what does the process look like for someone to find out their dosha? How do you find that in someone or in yourself?
Gauri:
So a lot of times I would say that, you know, when you, talk to an I with a practitioner such as myself, we go a lot in depth with their history as we’ll look at, you know, what they are portraying some of those physical, signs as well, when it comes to balance, a lot of times they go into the history as well.
We go into the questionnaire and look at what could be possible, make up for this person. Based on, again, their history. What they come on with there and then and imbalances and imbalances and things as well.
So again, we go in depth to look at how those dosha types could be figured out for this person again, based on the history, the digestion. Again, what are some of the signs and symptoms we are currently feeling as well.
Morgan:
So give me some examples of a dosha type and then the diet that goes with it. Because I know a little bit I know there’s like fiery if you’re a fiery dosha type then you can’t have too much spicy stuff and it’s not good for your digestion. But tell me more about this okay?
Gauri:
Okay. So to give you an example, let’s say for a person who’s a typical water, the type of this person, a lot of times, again, because they’re an eater are an, a part of the water dosha, a lot of times the qualities are embodied in this person as well.
So a lot of times the digestion, I would say, is that you know, it’s all over the place. So some days, for example, they feel hungry in the morning. Sometimes they don’t feel hungry, sometimes they don’t eat at all.
So a lot of times people with water type, particularly I would say they graze a lot throughout the day as well.
So one of the things we find is that when you offer more warm foods, more nourishing foods, that helps them grow, that helps with the digestion as well.
And also when it comes to the lifestyle, same thing with their lifestyle as well, because again, a lot of times a person with the water dosha, you know, they keep jumping from one thing to another or let’s say one project to another.
So again, what helps them ground and again, making sure that things like yoga, things like diet that actually help them grow.
And so we have to look at both the foods which are one warm meal nourishing at the same time, adding more lifestyle changes that are more grounding for this person as well.
Morgan:
That is incredible. And it’s so good to have such a well-rounded approach to nutrition. So how do people get started with you?
Gauri:
So one of the ways they get started with me is they usually will do a free, discovery call on the website that they can actually schedule and, they schedule that or they give us a call.
And a lot of times we go over, you know, what is the best way for us to help them try to understand where they are in their wellness journey and where they like to be the next 3 to 6 months.
How we can help them navigate that and how we can help them. You know, I always believe in the team approach. How can I help this person get to the next level when it comes to these health and wellness goals?
