About EGHS’s Aerospace/Aviation Assembly ProgramThe Aviation Maintenance Technology Program at Eau Gallie High School (EGHS) is the only public high school certified by ASTM to provide the Aerospace/Aviation Assembly (AAA) in the nation that provides industry-recognized aerospace and aircraft assembly certification opportunities at the secondary education level. Developed in response to workforce demands identified by regional aviation and aerospace employers, the program prepares students with the technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional competencies necessary to enter aviation and aerospace careers immediately upon graduation or continue into postsecondary engineering and aviation programs.

What are your top selling services or products that your company offers?The program serves more than 200 students annually. What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?providing enough talent for the industry's needs

How is your organization contributing to the future of aerospace? Training Aerospace/Aviation Assembly technicians and bringing youth back into the Aerospace/Aviation industry.

How are you addressing the push for greener aviation solutions? Our students are constructing a Mini 500 helicopter and converting it from Gas to an electric hybrid.

What challenges do you face in the commercial aviation sector? Most human resources departments in companies cannot look past hiring our students as direct hires until they hire one. Then they come to us asking how many they can hire next year. Some examples of this are Blue Origin, Falcon Jet, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, L3 Harris, Piper, SpaceX, and more, which now hire all I can graduate with no end in sight.

How is your company responding to the rise of private space travel? NA

What role do drones and unmanned systems play in your strategy? NA

What are the top skills needed in the aerospace workforce today? For the manufacturing community, it is the basics: riveting, safety wiring, hand tools, shop tools, hardware identification, safety training, and a multitude more. These skills are transferable to almost any industry.
