What is the core mission of your organization?EPIC Outreach’s core mission is to inspire compassion for people, animals, and the planet through humane education, animal rescue, and meaningful community connections.

How do you measure impact and success in your programs?We measure our impact by tracking the number of animals rescued or supported, people reached through humane education and community programs, volunteer hours contributed, animals successfully adopted, and families helped through outreach and resources. We also look beyond the numbers at the meaningful changes in how people understand, connect with, and show compassion toward animals.

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges?Our biggest challenge is raising consistent, year-round support while caring for more than 75 rescued animals and responding to a growing number of animals and families in need. With limited staff and resources, it can also be difficult to reach new audiences beyond our current supporters and turn awareness into lasting donor, volunteer, and community relationships.

How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters?We build long-term relationships by helping donors feel genuinely connected to our mission and the animals they make a difference for. We share personal stories, provide meaningful updates, express gratitude, and create opportunities for supporters to visit, volunteer, and experience the impact of their generosity firsthand.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action?TG NELSON, a retired racehorse who could no longer be ridden, waited more than a year at another rescue for a place to call home. EPIC Outreach welcomed this gentle giant into our sanctuary, where he is now safe, loved, and beginning a new purpose as an ambassador for kindness. His story shows our mission in action: giving animals a second chance while helping people learn about compassion, responsible care, and the value of every life.

What keeps you motivated in this work?What keeps me motivated is seeing the full circle of this work—watching an animal go from needing a safe place to heal and feel loved to becoming an ambassador who changes lives. When people meet the animals, hear their stories, and walk away inspired to live with more compassion, I’m reminded why this work matters so much.
