What trends are shaping the health and wellness industry right now? The health and wellness industry is at an interesting crossroads. Quick fixes and rapid weight loss solutions continue to attract attention, but there is also a growing awareness that true health is about much more than the number on a scale. More people are thinking about longevity, quality of life, mobility, strength, and maintaining their independence as they age.

As technology, wearable devices, and medications continue to evolve, information has become more accessible than ever. At the same time, people are realizing that information alone doesn’t create lasting change. They want expert guidance, accountability, and a personalized approach that fits their life.

We believe this shift creates an incredible opportunity to help people invest not just in how they look today, but in who they want to be 10, 20, or 30 years from now. Strength, movement, and healthy behaviors aren’t simply about fitness. They’re about creating the freedom to continue doing the things you love for years to come.

How do you approach holistic well-being with your clients or audience? At Momentum, we believe health is about far more than exercise. Every client brings a unique story, goals, challenges, and lifestyle, so our coaching extends beyond the workout itself. We take the time to understand what matters most to each individual and create a plan that supports not only their physical health, but also their confidence, energy, resilience, and overall quality of life.

We focus on building sustainable behaviors through personalized coaching, education, accountability, and meaningful relationships. Whether someone wants to move without pain, keep up with their kids, improve athletic performance, or stay active for decades to come, our goal is the same: to help them become stronger, more capable, and better equipped to live the life they want.

What challenges do you see in helping people sustain healthy habits? One of the biggest challenges isn’t a lack of motivation or information. Most people already know what they “should” be doing. The challenge is learning how to make healthy behaviors fit into the realities of everyday life.

Busy schedules, stress, competing priorities, injuries, life transitions, and unrealistic expectations often get in the way. Many people also fall into an all-or-nothing mindset, believing that if they can’t do everything perfectly, they’ve failed.

Our role as coaches is to help people move beyond perfection and create a realistic, sustainable approach they can maintain through life’s ups and downs. We focus on building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and helping clients adapt rather than quit, because lasting health isn’t built by being perfect. It’s built by consistently making choices that align with the life they want to live.

How do you tailor programs for different fitness or health needs? We recognize that no two people begin their health journey from the same place. Every client comes to us with different goals, abilities, injury histories, lifestyles, and motivations, which is why we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programming.

We start by getting to know the individual, understanding not only what they want to achieve, but why it matters to them. From there, we create a personalized plan that evolves as they progress. Even in our small group personal training, every member follows an individualized program tailored to their needs while benefiting from the motivation and community of training alongside others.

Whether someone is recovering from an injury, improving athletic performance, managing a chronic condition, building strength, or simply wanting to feel healthier and more confident, our coaching adapts to meet them where they are. Our goal is to provide the right amount of challenge, support, and accountability so clients can make meaningful progress safely and sustainably.

What role does technology play in supporting wellness today? Technology has transformed the way people engage with their health. Wearable devices, fitness apps, continuous glucose monitors, AI, and other tools provide valuable insights that can increase awareness, track progress, and support behavior change. When used appropriately, they can be powerful additions to a person’s health journey.

At the same time, we believe technology should support health, not replace a person’s connection with their own body. It’s easy to become overly focused on numbers, scores, and metrics while losing sight of how you actually feel. Resting heart rate, sleep scores, step counts, and recovery metrics all provide useful information, but they are only one piece of the picture.

We encourage our clients to use technology as a guide rather than a decision-maker. Learning to recognize hunger and fullness, notice energy levels, understand recovery, manage stress, and listen to the body’s feedback are skills that no device can fully replace.

Our goal is to help clients use technology wisely while building the self-awareness and confidence to trust their own bodies. The most meaningful measure of progress isn’t just what a wearable reports. It’s how well you can live, move, feel, and participate in the life you want to live.

Can you share a story of transformation you’ve witnessed? One of the most meaningful transformations I’ve witnessed wasn’t defined by a number on the scale. A client came to us feeling disconnected from their body, overwhelmed by years of starting and stopping, and unsure if they were capable of lasting change. They had spent years believing they simply lacked motivation.

Instead of chasing quick results, we focused on building consistency, confidence, and trust in themselves. We celebrated small wins, adapted through setbacks, and created a plan that fit their life rather than expecting their life to revolve around fitness.

Over time, their transformation extended far beyond becoming stronger physically. They became more confident in making decisions, more resilient when life became challenging, and began to see themselves as someone who could follow through on commitments. Their relationship with movement changed from something they “had to do” into something that helped them live the life they wanted.

I’ve found that this is a recurring theme in health and wellness. Most people come to us believing they want to lose weight, get stronger, or improve their fitness. Those goals matter, but they’re rarely where the greatest transformation occurs. As people begin to trust themselves again, they often discover they’re gaining far more than better health. They become more confident, more resilient, and more engaged in every area of their lives.

That experience has reinforced what I’ve believed throughout my career: the greatest transformation isn’t simply changing a body. It’s helping someone change how they see themselves and what they believe they’re capable of.

What motivates you in this industry every day? What motivates me every day is knowing that the work we do has the potential to change far more than someone’s physical health. Strength has a ripple effect. When people become stronger, healthier, and more confident, they often begin showing up differently in every area of their lives. They become better parents, partners, leaders, friends, and members of their community.

I also believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live a life they can fully participate in. Helping someone move without pain, regain confidence after an injury, keep up with their children, continue traveling, or simply trust their body again is incredibly meaningful to me.

After more than two decades in this profession, what continues to inspire me isn’t just watching people transform physically. It’s watching them realize they’re capable of more than they once believed. Having the privilege to walk alongside someone as they discover that potential is what makes this work so rewarding.
