How long have you been in your industry?25+ years
Why did you choose your industry?My granddad was a radio & TV pioneer and the first station manager of what's now WTLV in JAX. I'm not a "nepo baby," as he passed away when I was in high school, but he got my interest piqued at an early age.
Who are your typical clients?Broadcast TV and other media related entities.
What do you like best about being in this industry?The people, such as Grace, Mike and Morgan! Also helping come up with solutions to challenging problems.
What are common problems you see?Broadcast television is seeing its audience get splintered with the myriad new platforms available including streaming, etc., but there will always be a need for local news and information.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Research, research, research . . . in other words, know your customers and what their needs are. That should garner your a bigger share of audience.
When is your busy season?I tend to burn the candle at both ends AND the middle ;)
What keeps you up at night?Honestly, right this moment, not having a full time job with benefits and being able to support my wife and twins.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Just created the www.nimmonsgroup.com website last night and I'm working with the INCREDIBLE team at CFM to boost my online presence through spectacularly-produced interview segments.
How involved are you in the community?Through Special Olympics, Autism Researchers Link and my local church.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Special Olympics
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?In regards to television, go in eyes wide open and understand the sea changes that are taking place. Also go in with an A.I. and Digital first mentality.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Spending time with my wife and twins as well as doodling (used to be a cartoonist for The Florida Times-Union years ago).
