How long have you been in your industry?6
Why did you choose your industry?Because my family has always done well with real estate, first as home flippers, then as multifamily investors and now as a brokerage. I can tell my lightbulb moment of our first home and second home MAJOR home-runs! How did I get into marketing? During Covid, I opened up a beach boutique and I LOVED marketing my products, collaborating with local businesses, going LIVE, giving back with proceeds of my sales- I found out I was good at it! Sold the biz$!
Who are your typical clients? In Marketing, my external clients are business owners in the real estate industry who I can collaborate with to benefit all parties, like high-converting events (BWB), inviting guests to our team trainings. My main clients are my agents- I help them to uncover their niches, tell their stories, establish or clean up their social media accounts and create events to boost their businesses. (Autumn)
What do you like best about being in this industry?PEOPLE! Helping people, seeing them learn and advance with the tips and trainings I give them. I am proud of our family and veteran-owned business and that we are not fufu, snooty business owners trying to get rich off of our agents. We actually enjoy seeing them succeed and care about them and their success.
What are common problems you see?Real estate is for everyone, but not everyone is for real estate. You cannot be a successful part-time agent. I see this failure often. You must continually hone your craft, take courses, receive constructive criticism, network, learn from the best in the industry, put yourself out there, connect with others, and outwork everyone else, it is a FULL TIME JOB.
What advice/tips do you have for clients? If you can't rattle off your identity, intent & strategy- start there! Who you are. What you do. Where you do it. WHY. Know WHO YOU ARE BEFORE YOU POST. And stick with that same message across all of your channels. Stay consistent. Your niche clients will find you.
When is your busy season?Spring/Summer
What keeps you up at night?Menopause haha! I won't share that.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Everything! THIS (CFM) haha, events, BWB is a big one (follow us on IG), LinkedIn is great for recruiting, Chamber Events, Social Media
How involved are you in the community?Foodies Care, Chamber of Commerce, local vendor markets, first-time homebuyer classes, veterans programsPersonally I'm involved in several women business-owned networking groups
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Foodies Care, Keep Nassau Beautiful, Compassion International
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Be realistic, have some savings because it takes 3-6 months to build your pipeline and work your leads before your first paycheck. Be prepared, establish your niche and prepare all of your social media accounts in a professional manner- and PLEASE Do NOT be afraid to post on social media because it is a gold mine for your business!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?My adorable grand-daughters who are 6 and 3, my family, traveling and I'm a big TREE nerd haha, love visiting gorgeous trees around the world.
