How do you define success?

I’m looking for the best version of myself. I’m also looking for it in others along the way. I love to walk the journey with others to help them get to that place. I’ve achieved “success” on the organizational chart, but there’s so many layers to success that are not represented by blocks on the org chart.

How did you get started in your field or work?

Throughout my military career, leadership development has always been something on my agenda. After military retirement, I got into this field to help others accelerate their development as leaders.

What’s one thing we should know that makes your company unique?

Leadership development is a passion for all of us on the team. It’s also an elite team. On our team, you’ll never work so hard to be average. We’ve got some really talented people that are all in. We’re very selective about who we bring on board, and it shows in our customer feedback. The best feedback is contract renewals, and we’re over 90% in that category.

What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in your business?

There will always be some parts of the organization that will say you can’t move into a certain role. When the train of opportunity pulls into the station, you have to have your bag packed–there’s no time to go home and pack or you’ll miss that train. That means work hard and be prepared for the opportunity train to pull in. Put those together and they can’t say no. I’ve always done both of those, and it has enabled success in my career.
